Using OpenOffice 4.0 (English UI), I find the following formats listed under Tools > Options > Load/Save > General (this is the list from the menu "Always save as" when "Document type" is set to "Text document"): * DocBook * HTML Document (OpenOffice Writer) * Microsoft Word 2003 XML * Microsoft Word 6.0 * Microsoft Word 95 * Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP * ODF Text Document * OpenOffice.org XML 1.0 Text Document * OpenOffice.org XML 1.0 Text Document Template * Rich Text Format * Text * Text Encoded * Unified Office Format text * Unified Office Format 2 Text The "Save as..." dialog contains the same list of formats (though in a different order and with file extensions added), with the addition of "ODF Text Document Template (.ott) (*.ott)". Are the lists in your version of OpenOffice different than in my version? Best regards, Christophe PS: I did not encounter the "writer8" string that Andrea Pescetti reported in the above lists. -- Christophe Strobbe Akademischer Mitarbeiter Adaptive User Interfaces Research Group Hochschule der Medien Nobelstraße 10 70569 Stuttgart Tel. +49 711 8923 2749 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
