To reproduce a bug I need to crash openoffice (with some opened
openoffice windows) in OS X.

Anyone have any suggestions?

++ Open a terminal (Go -> Utilities)
++ Find the process ID (PID) of OpenOffice by entering 'ps -ef | grep
soffice'
++ Now enter 'kill -11 {PID}'
-> After a couple of seconds you should see a message box 'openoffice
quit unexpectedly'.

It works. And seems to damage some user preference file :-)

That would be another bug then I think. If kill -11 (SIGSEGV) damages preferences files, then real crashes out in the field can do as well, I assume.

I am trying to see the window shown in bug 122861 and 122960. And the
window does not appear.

Yesterday I installed "Readability Report" from
http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/en/project/readability-report
something went wrong (openoffice crash) and the window reported in the
bugs was present. removing ~/Library/Saved Application
State/org.openoffice.script.savedState all goes well

If today I install Readability Report all goes well and I can't
reproduce the problem.

thank you
Edoardo
