I managed to find 'demux' the binary in 'nmm'

(demux binary is listed as an option in your program, but not
configurable in the paths option section FYI)

Even this has only worked a number of times, the following error
message now is beyond me.
 # /usr/bin/demux "../PRG001/MOV001.MOD" 0xe0 "./test.m2v"
Exception : A required node is not available

So I am now using ProjectX to demux to create m2v and ac3 files, then
using mplex to remux them as qdvdauthor would have done, and just
using the prepared mpeg2 file which seems to work flawlessly. More
steps than I would like, but I think this will do for now. After I
complete my first project I will see if I can find solutions to these
problems.

With this hurdle worked around, I move on to subtitles!
