This is probably unrelated but according to DVD spec NTSC mp2 is not a requirement. Most player will play it but some might have issues with it. Funny thing is that for PAL it is a requirement.
I learned that after working on QDVDAuthor for about three years. I will yet have to change my menu creation to use a52 audio, which is a requirement in both NTSC and PAL.
