Sounds like it might be hardware related....not software bound. Or (I've
seen this before..) the burner doesn't like the brand/colour/type of 
blank dvd media you're feeding it. Growisofs did have a bug in it quite 
a time ago, but AFAIK this was fixed before dvd+rwtools-7.x came out, 
and it's all good now. You'd need make sure nothing else is trying to 
access the drive (mythtv has an issue like this for one). The only other 
thing I can think of is your system doesn't know to use your writer as a 
udf packet-device (but this is usually setup ok in ubuntu)...

Did it burn dvd iso files okay in the past?
