Hello Everyone
The result was exactly the same.  Unfortunately, checking "Compile with debug 
info does not seem to have done anything.  I ran "qdvdauthor &> 
/home/steve/qdvdauthor.txt" from a terminal, and when the segfault occured, I 
checked the file.  It was completely empty.

So, I don't know how to proceed from here.
