I looked at the dvdauthor.xml and from what I can peek, it looks ok to me.

There is a limit of 99 instructions per VOB I believe. Maybe you hit this ?
were you able to get it to work ?
It may be interesting to see if the buttons work when you remove some of
the other buttons in the sub-menu, to shrink the jump table.
