This bug is not fixed. There was an attempt to fix it, but it were reverted. There was another attempt (by me) but it was incomplete (I'll resend in shortly).

For example a filename scsi:0, is interpreted as a protocol "scsi". Unfortunately filenames like /dev/disk/by-path/pci-0000:0b:00.0-sas-phy0:1-0x5000c5000c14b41d:0-lun0-part3 have colon in their names.
