Hello,

I am currently trying to use virtualization on my Omap5432-uevm board (Armv7,
Cortex a15). I am using Qemu 2.3.

I have a working linux 4.0 system with a Debian Jessie root file system on that
board. I succeed to emulate a Versatile Express board, with a Cortex a15, from
my Omap5 and make a system work on it. Nonetheless it does not work when I try
to virtualize it via the "-enable-kvm" option, using the same kernel and the
same root file system.

My command to launch Qemu:

qemu-system-arm -enable-kvm -machine vexpress-a15 -cpu cortex-a15 -m 1600M -smp
2 \
-kernel zImage \
-append "console=ttyAMA0 earlyprintk=serial root=/dev/mmcblk0 rw
rootfstype=ext4" \
-serial stdio -dtb vexpress-v2p-ca15-tc1.dtb \
-drive if=sd,cache=writeback,file=rootfs_guest_omap.img,format=raw

(It works without the -enable-kvm option, but I want it to be virtualized)

My boot logs :

The boot stops there, nothing else happen.

If I remove the "-smp 2" option to get ride of warnings the boot stops at this
step :
[ 0.171767] Setting up static identity map for 0x804e5138 - 0x804e5190

I tried to make several modifications to my kernel, in vain. Do you know if
something is missing in my command line or if a specific configuration may be
missing ?

Thanks for your help.

Regards.

Maxime Degraix.
