Thanks for approving. I understand the switch to the new repo in QGIS
itself will happen later but it is OK for me to add
http://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/plugins.xml as repo myself.

Yes, it would help a lot if there was a wiki page or something
describing the current state and planned features.

Btw, is there a way (or planned way) to automatically create the
plugin zip file from a git repo and publish it on
http://plugins.qgis.org/ ?
This is a quite annoying step in the process of a plugin release.
