Hello I am a user of QGIS 1.7.4 on 11.04 ubuntu natty and am experiencing some issues while trying to transform shp or raster files from Pulkovo 1942(58) EPSG:3120 polish coordinate system to ETRS89 EPSG:2180 (also a polish coordinate system). Process runs smoothly itself but produces a placement error causing dislocation between original true placement and transformation result (about 125 m distance between identical points). Problem occures allso when trying to transform to ETRS89 EPSG:2179 or ETRS89 EPSG:2178. Allso trying thesame operation on QGIS 1.7.4 installed on windows 7 provides no errors at all. Seraching QGIS forums led to simple conclusion - different gdal transformation tools implemented in ubuntu and windows QGIS installation files (or sth like that). Question is - will it be fixed in the nearest hackfest? This is a serious issue which prevents companies using open source software (like the one i work for) to grow. Allso a question refering postgis database and raster management - rasters stored in database via PostGIS Raster with created pyramids load slowly in QGIS cause there is no support for pyramids. Can this support be established by a plugin or other means to make QGIS and PostgreSQL database compatible in this mater? If it is possible will it be implemented in one of next QGIS releases or by plugin?
