I am unable to compile the latest QGis, I guess this is the same issue? (I am using ArchLinux)

[ 47%] Built target qgis.d.rast
Linking C executable ../../../output/lib/qgis/grass/modules/qgis.g.info
/usr/bin/ld: CMakeFiles/qgis.g.info.dir/qgis.g.info.c.o: undefined reference to symbol 'pow@@GLIBC_2.0' /usr/bin/ld: note: 'pow@@GLIBC_2.0' is defined in DSO /usr/lib/libm.so.6 so try adding it to the linker command line
/usr/lib/libm.so.6: could not read symbols: Invalid operation

Tim, do you know what problem this was meant to fix?

It seems to be an edge case where lynxlynxlynx has a grass install
that is not linked to libm

14:05:32 lynxlynxlynx: it's not osx, i'm on linux
14:05:38 timlinux: lynxlynxlynx: oh
14:05:51 timlinux: I wonder why only you had that compile issue
14:06:12 lynxlynxlynx: probably my grass doesn't have -lm stored in
its pc file
14:07:17 timlinux: lynxlynxlynx: I will revert it for now
14:08:08 lynxlynxlynx: wrap it in a windows check
14:09:05 lynxlynxlynx: or msvc specifically, if mingw is supported

Theory of the Universe

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the
universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced
by something even more bizarrely inexplicable. There is another theory which
states that this has already happened.
