Hi Leyan,

I am also using the current master.

If am using the "categorized" or "simple" or "" renderer, there is a "Advanced" button in the bottom right where one can choose a rotation or scale attribute. This button and choice is not available with the rule-based renderer.

You are right - I can use the ellipse renderer with the rule based renderer, but I would also need it for simple symbols and SVG symbols and for those, we cannot have data-defined settings.

So it seems that the symbology system is not yet consistent and complete.

I am not sure I understand exactly what you want, there should be no
link between the rule-based renderer and the rotation settings. What
is working for a single that is not working with the rule-based
renderer ?

I only have qgis Master here, but I can specify the rotation in the
rules I create. The data-defined rotation only works for ellipse
symbols, but this issue is not related to the rule-based renderer.

Which version are you using ?

Hi,

I am in the process of cleaning up some other project, reducing the nr of necessary layers by changing to the rule based renderer.

Am I missing something, or is it not possible to rotate symbols based on a rotation attribute when using the rule based renderer? Maybe I don't find it in the GUI? Or is this very important feature not yet present?

Thanks,
Andreas
