I have put up a pull request, see: https://github.com/qgis/Quantum-GIS/pull/343
If no ojections are raised, I'll merge it in a couple of days. "Moving the settings for measurements ellipsoid from Options menu to Project menu, and storing them in project settings instead. Why? The measurements are not only used for viewing anymore, but also for calculating area and length in field calculator. As some tickets have been submitted that pointed out that different lengths of the same object in field calculator and the GUI is confusing, work was done to rectify this. In the process valid concerns were made regarding that the same project with the same data would yield different calculated - and stored - results in field calculator, if the local settings for measurements were not identical. Moving the settings to Project will make it possible to always come to the same result regardless of installation. It is as a bonus also easier to set different ellipsoid depending on project, e.g. one project is depicting Mars and another Earth. This will fix issues 3296 and 4252" -- View this message in context: http://osgeo-org.1560.n6.nabble.com/Settings-for-easurements-ellipsoid-moved-tp5019405.html Sent from the Quantum GIS - Developer mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ Qgis-developer mailing list [email protected] http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-developer
