Hi Andreas,

will that be only Google/Bing or will there be a more general approach to have anything defined as base layer as discussed in [1]?

Hi Giovanni,

No - this is not possible yet. We can discuss this in Brighton.

Im about to push a pull-request from Lars Linger and Otto Dassau that
will enable Google/Bing maps as backgrounds - if that interests you. But
you have to stick to EPSG:3857.

Hi Andreas,

there is a way to have a layer always visible but do not have it in the TOC?

cheers!

  Hi Otto,

  If you provide the "visibleLayers" property in the URL, it will be
  used. If you do not provide this property it will use the visibility
  setting from the QGIS?project. You need to set

  var useGetProjectSettings = true;

  to be able to use the visibility from the QGIS?project. It does not
  work with GetCapabilities.
