Hi all, I don't if you have noticed but a new contributor has submitted a patch
https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/pull/922 that seems to improve the vector rendering speed up to 90% -> http://hub.qgis.org/attachments/6318/test_data_qgis_master_RenderingStatsQGIS__Feature-8725.zip I would really appreciate if one of the core devs can review it and eventually commit it (or suggest modifications), so we can start test it as this would be a much needed improvement.
