You should NOT do this (and I did not want to say that you did)

"git push -f" is potentially dangerous (because it actually does edit the commit history and should not be used on shared repositories). As I advised people to do this under certain circumstances (in a feature branch), I felt obliged to print a warning, where it should not be used.
