Perceived faster, the drives are actually slower (OSGeo has 15k rpm SAS
drives in RAID6). RAM is non-ECC, CPU is probably faster (can't tell
what the new machine has but osgeo machine are actually 8 core).
Bandwidth from OSUOSL is likely Gigabit.

It's probably performance overhead from older ganeti, and limited cpu
allocation to a particular VM.

It may not actually be faster with the same load per allocated resource.

Just minor points to keep in mind when trying to figure out the balance.
