Yes, I confirm for last master, at least on shapes and sqlite.
This is strange, I tested just after Matthias' merge and did not had any
trouble.
Can't tell which commit brought the trouble though.

You might want to check the configuration of the fields in the layer properties
and
report which field causes the problem.
There is a new widget API and there might be some problem with the translation
from
old to new widgets.
