I'll shortly summarize the tab vs. link comparison: + It's in QGIS + We get a ping of installations and can do statistics +/- The same amount of clicks for the same information - More overhead - More code to maintain - Less space on the recent projects page due to tabs - More potential points of failure (e.g. SSL issue) - Users computers connect to online services
