For notification about new plugins that could probably be useful. But then it's more useful for users than developers. So it should at least be moved to qgis-user. But for that a RSS feed on plugins.q.o might be better. Doesn't the plugin manager also have a opt-in notification mechanism for new plugins? For the purpose to avoid duplication of plugins it seems quite useless to me. People intending to write a plugin should be capable to search in the plugin manager or on plugins.q.o if there is already something similar they can use instead or base their work on - and if they aren't, they probably didn't manage to subscribe to qgis-developer either. And even if they did, they probably already missed the approval of the plugin and are still doomed to reinvent it. Is there anyone that actually finds this mails useful? AFAICT so far there were only voices that didn't find it useful or just thought it might be useful to others - but no one said "keep it, I use it". Jürgen -- Jürgen E.
