I think another issue is that, while this wiki article is undoubtedly extremely useful, it relates to a rather specific task - building in a somewhat specific set of circumstances. Without similar instructions for other, more common, build scenarios, the article runs the risk of making users think that this process is more broadly required.
As everyone keeps saying, the content would be invaluable on a third-party site, ie a blog post.
