Hi,

I'm on Debian testing, and build 2.14, 2.18 and master here.

Happy to test your setup, but never seen it before.

Can you provide me the steps/data to reproduce?
And the info/command based on what you conclude it to use 8Gb?

Just tried a run of 2.18 with a geopackage of the world, and using

valgrind --tool=massif /pathto/qgis218
ms_print massif.out.12503

it shows me max 100 mb (though not fully clear to me how to interpret
this wealth of info ...)

Can you try on another machine?
