Ok some steps forward.. By adding the repository of ubuntugis [0] I could install libqgis-customwidgets version 3. BUT I cannot install it because it depends on libgdal >= 2.2.0 (while I have 2.1.2 installed).
Should I also compile gdal to have the widgets available? Thanks!
