Does it also fix the following problem?
QgsGeometry.fromWkt('Polygon ((0 0, 1 1, 1 0, 0
0))').intersection(QgsGeometry.fromWkt('Point (42 0)'))
returns <QgsGeometry: Point (0 0)>
