Hi all I started a page on QGIS wiki for this year's google summer of code: https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/wiki/Google-Summer-of-Code-2026-Ideas
With the idea to introduce a non destructive workflow in QGIS with a new special kind of layer "processing layer". I would mentor it alongside Denis Rouzaud. Please feel free to add more ideas, you can find some instructions here [1] and the deadline to submit the ideas as a project to OSGeo is on 3 february [1] Side note: For the proposal above, I will come up with better exercices before submitting it to OSGeo. But turns out, it's pretty hard to find exercices, that are not too easy, not too hard, interesting, yet does not feel exploitive to the GSoC candidate Cheers, Valentin [1] https://discourse.osgeo.org/t/osgeo-in-gsoc-2026-call-for-project-ideas-gsoc-2026-deadline-feb-2-2026/151930
