The plugin is broken with QGis 1.0.1 but works with 1.0.2 You'll have to get the svn trunk : svn co svn://svn.tuxfamily.org/svnroot/scrippets/scripts/trunk/qgis/rasterCatalog and then use make to install it to ~/.qgis/python/plugins/rasterCatalog I'll try to release a version tonight.
