Thanks a lot for the info. I am installing it at the moment. Could the QGIS download site current-software [1] reflect this Hardy repository for 1.2? Because at the moment, it refers to launchpad: 1.2.0 Daphnis -- Ubuntu -- Download: https://launchpad.net/~qgis/+archive/unstable Follow the instructions provided at the download page. Packages are provided for Hardy, Gutsy, Jaunty and Intrepid.
