Marco,

Can I suggest that this item be called "Lock layers for map item" instead of "keep layer list"? I think it will be more intuitive for people this way. Other suggestions are encouraged.

John

Works like a charm! (I must say: this feature is poorly documented...)

Still open: wondering whether I can indicate the extends of one frame by enabling a bounding rectangle in the other?

Thank you list,

Hi Rob

You may use the checkbox 'keep layer list' of the composer map widgets for
this:
-Load all the data into QGIS
- Set the layers for map1 visible, go to the composer, add the first composer
map and check 'keep layer list'
- Go back to the main map, set the layers for map2 visible and all others visible. The layers in composermap 1 will remain as long as they are in the
layer list
- Go to the composer and add the second composer map. The second map will now
show layer set 2 while the first one keeps its layers.

Hope it works,
Marco
