I can verify the problem outlined below with the Contours plugin. On
Windows, the Shapely python library will only install under a regular
(i.e. registered in the Win registry) python installation. But the
Contours plugin only searches in the QGIS python installation. So
shapely.geometry is never found.
Any ideas how to fix this are welcome. For example, can Shapely be added
to the OSGeo4W install like matlibplot is?

For the time being I'm concentrating on WIN QGIS 1.4 since local

1. WIN QGIS 1.4 successfully installed;
2. OSGeog4W successfully installed;
3. Contour plugin won't install, it required matplotlib-0.99.1
4. Got matplotlib-0.99.1 from Sourgeforge as advised by Lionel Roubeyrie
but won't install, it required at least Python 2.2
5. Python 2.6.4 successfully installed
6. matplotlib successfully installed until "finish"
7. Contour plugin STILL won't install, it STILL says require matplotlib
I'm running round in circles.
Other than that the Survey Dept gave DEM contour plans in shape files
with x, y and z coordinates so I can now use them for R&D now am hoping
to get the Contour plugin active.
