Hi..
I'm using qgis 1.4.0 both in Linux and windows.
Trying to merge two adiacent poligons (created with topological editing
enabled and avoiding intersection of polygons) sometime it happens that,
although the features are merged, a duplicated boundary (assigned to one
of the two original polygons) is left where there were the originals
common boundaries. 
This duplicated boundary frequently stops at around half the length of
the originally shared boundaries...

I have checked in the tickets but it seems there is nothing open about
this problem..

anyone has found similar problems?
