I just grabbed the qgis source rpm from Fedora 12 and was able to build
it on my FC11 system and install it. I only had to make one small
change to the spec file I commented out the BuildRequires:
qt4-webkit-devel line. This is provided by qt4-devel in older
releases. So if you can't upgrade to Fedora 12 or greater it is
possible to build the rpm yourself. If you can upgrade qgis 1.5 is
available with yum. David J. Bakeman wrote: Andrea as I recall there is a symbol conflict issue with I think proj and gdal in Fedora. I built my own rpms from source and a newer version of gdal to get around this. It's probably easier to just build from source especially since the available rpms for Fedora are 1.2(last I checked anyway) which is pretty old. I haven't had time to try 1.5 yet but I've used 1.4 for awhile now on Fedora 11. |
