I agree this solution, for two reasons: 1) In Italy the IGM cartographies are in ecw and normally they are the very first brick of the house in my project. Moreover the ecw is the format often used for the ortophoto, it's always possibile to georeference a jpg, but is clear that is more conveniet a format that is already georeferenced by the local governments. 2) in my humble honest opinion fwtools is very heavy, yesterday i've tried to open an ecw, and it has took more than 30 min, and the GUI is curmbersome. So a sort of: "Batch convert ecw -> to geotiff" can be a good solution, and maybe a plug-in is a compromise that can be agreed. -- View this message in context: http://osgeo-org.1803224.n2.nabble.com/QGIS-1-5-Update-for-ECW-SID-support-crashes-tp5442247p5646618.html Sent from the qgis-user mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ Qgis-user mailing list [email protected] http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
