Mars, can you try current git master?  I made a couple changes to the GDAL and 
GEOS framework detection.  Maybe not related, but it's worth a try, and there 
have been other changes in the past couple weeks.  I couldn't get QGIS to 
crash, but it's always been hard for me to verify this bug.
