Weird, I actually find the opposite: enabling renderer caching solves the problem. If render caching is disabled, then you have to click and unclick twice the first time for each layer (of the type previously described). From then on, it works normally for a while. But if you do not refresh that layer for a while, then you have to click and unclick twice again. Confirmed with many layers.
