Hi everyone
Thanks to Juan and Ramon for suggestions about Adding Data to the Attribute
Table.

It turns out that my mistake was not having the 'layers' panel open when doing
the 'join' process. So when I used this panel, it worked! Well, almost ....

Now when I open the Style box and select Graduated Render, the drop-down menu
has only the columns from the original attribute table. The columns I have
added do not appear in the list. But if I select Categorised render, all the
new columns are there.

Anyone got any ideas?

The joined columns may be text only and not numeric (possibly a bug). A work around is to add a new calculated column with the data you want, that way you can specify it's type as numeric.

Enjoy,
Alex
