Hey Mats, QGIS doesn't support as it just hasn't been don't yet, no one has cared enough to really fund it or develop it. QGIS uses OGR which does support basic styles from tab files, however QGIS doesn't use the style information returned from OGR.....yet
>From what I have seen, the MapInfo OGR driver only supports returning basic style information e.g no font symbol support; only width and colour etc. I did look at adding support at one stage but I have no time currently to work on something like that. If it was needed enough and some money was given I'm sure you could find a developer to add it in.
