All 4 display as expected on one computer, but when they are copied over to a different machine, one of the 4 does not display? And all the components of all 4 shapefiles are identical on both machines? One machine is ubuntu, the other fedora 16, and both are running QGIS 1.7.4. If that sums it up, then indeed there are some gremlins at work here...
