I installed QGIS mapserver on an ubuntu 12.04 server I have in order to look at
trying geomoose. However I can't get mapserver to work in the first place. I
installed it from the ubuntugis-unstable ppa.

When I go to
http://192.168.10.10/cgi-bin/qgis_mapserv.fcgi?SERVICE=WMS&VERSION=1.3.0&REQUEST=GetCapabilities
 I get a 500 server error.

Delving into the apache error log I get the following entries which point to a
problem with mod_fcgid.

[Fri Aug 24 22:33:36 2012] [warn] [client 192.168.10.6] mod_fcgid: error
reading data, FastCGI server closed connection

Has anyone got mapserver running on Ubuntu Precise? Or have any idea how I go
about trying to sort this problem?

Thanks,

Simon.
