no worries, I tried in bash: $ ogr2ogr -s_srs '+proj=natearth +wktext' -t_srs "EPSG:4326" trade_arrows_4326.shp trade_arrows.shp
and got: Failed to process SRS definition: +proj=natearth +wktext then I tried $ ogr2ogr -s_srs 'LOCAL_CS["foo", EXTENSION["PROJ4", "+proj=natearth +wktext"]]' -t_srs "EPSG:4326" trade_arrows_4326.shp trade_arrows.shp and success.
