I think you need to install libLAS-bin (http://www.liblas.org/) to save it as Geotiff or asci (xyz) values. Then I don't think QGIS can disply it in 3D? You maybe can do it i GRASS and nviz, i think. The freeware Fugroview are much quicker, I think. Fugroview works fine under wine.
Ubuntu have libLAS-bin in the repository as a cli-program. If there are other ways, I really want to hear about them. /Cheers 2013/2/24 Jake Maier <[email protected]> > Hi Everyone**** > > Does anyone have experience with LIDAR and qgis, what do I need to display > LIDAR information within qgis?**** > > I mean other than the 2 terabyte hard drive to obtain the information?**** > > Or does anyone know if I can get LIDAR for Maine (USA) on the internet?*** > * > > Thank you very much for any pointers.**** > > Jake**** > > ** ** > > _______________________________________________ > Qgis-user mailing list > [email protected] > http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user > >
