I have lots of vrt files with overviews built, and they were taking forever to load in QGIS master. Now they open quickly again like in 1.8. Due to the size of the rasters combined with a bug in GDAL that causes it to take literally a month to process the overviews for super-large rasters (about 450,000 * 440,000), we can't create them as a GeoTIFF. So the question - how do I use super-large rasters as a single contiguous dataset in QGIS 2?
