How did you actually try to open your sqlite file? In Qgis you have 2
options for opening spatialite/sqlite:
1. Open it using "Layer" --> "Add Spatialite layer" .. works only for
spatialite files (!)
2. Open it using "Layer" --> "Add Vector layer" and choosing file type
"sqlite [OGR]" file type
Have you tried option no. 2 ?
