The process should be similar in both. Which guide where you looking at?
2.0 is in the standard repositories.
If you want 2.2 then probably the easiest way at the momment is to
remove QGIS 2.0 and then added in QGIS from this source:
http://www.qgis.org/en/site/forusers/alldownloads.html#on-plain-ubuntu
