Qgis is updated frequently but what is the best way to keep it up to date on
your local machine?

I have gone through perhaps 10 different versions either using the standalone
or OSgeo. OSgeo used to work fine but then had more problems with all the
different settings and went through a period where everything had to be removed
from the machine before any updates were possible. Went back to standalone
which also had to be removed but was easier to do. Have 4 different machines
each with a different OS so it would be nice if there were some more automated
way of keeping things fairly up to date.
