Hi.
and what about using the "Draw line only inside polygon" option?

Thanks David although we are using live data. Stefan’s approach is a good one
so I think I will continue with that, thanks for everyone’s responses

Here is another solution that would work if you are not mapping live data, and
you can use a derived product. Convert your polygon dataset to lines. The,
use Vector>Dissolve to remove duplicated lines where
they are overlapping.

Hey Stefan,

Neat trick/idea with the white line. I’ll have to write that one down. Hmm, I
wonder instead of white though,
if you could convert that to transparent as well . . . .

Hi

Put a white line under the dotted line („Add symbol layer“).

Perhaps there is also a solution with the blending modes?

Stefan

Betreff: [Qgis-user] Dotted line symbol in QGIS

Hi

I have a boundary layer that I want to symbolise with a dotted line. The outer
boundary appears ok, but where two polygons are adjacent to each other, the
dotted line becomes virtually solid (indicated below). How can I make these
lines appear the same as my
outer boundary lines…

Thanks, Chris
