Hi there,

ok, I seem to understand the first flaws after creating a spatialite layer and activating the HTML for my label field. Obviously there is a complete html phrase created around my data input, and my normal shape text field was too short to hold that.

Anyway, the label now shows that huge html text, but does not render it.

So, am I doing sth wrong, or what is the HTML-feature good for then?

Cheers
Bernd

Hi,
in my search for means to create more complex labelling, I stumbled upon the option for the Text Edit widget to check "Multiline" which enables a "HTML" checkbox.

As I only find zero description on that feature, I wonder what it is good for, cause using it only yields strange results: Editing an entry of my text field does not replace the NULL, but the NULL is shifted right when typing. Stopping the edit with return, the typed text disappears again and NULL remains.

However, using the field calculator to populate the field works. Inserting '<i>hello</i>' into my label field shows only <i>hello</i> on the map, and not an italic text.

Interestingly, when I now click once into the field with <i>hello</i> in the attribute table, my "hello" is displayed italic, but leaving the cell resets the content to NULL again.

So, is this all only nonsense, or is there sth wrong with my install or this a bug?

Using 2.8.2 on Linux Mint 17.

Cheers
Bernd
