Hi Luca,

you might want to experiment with additional thin lines and line offset. Use symbol levels to draw them on top.

i am symbolizing a road feature with the classic map road symbology (
colored strip with black borders).
everything looks ok, except for motorways: they are two parallel lines
in the shapefile, a few meters away one from the other.
the symbol i'm using is too "fat" when rendered at the proper scale, and
the lines overlap, so that i can see only a big coloured strip without a
black middle line as i would expect.
is there a way to arrange symbology in a way that this doesnt happen?
i.e asking qgis not to overlap line features using some automatic offset
when necessary?
