Hi If the "Cache Feature" option is set, the whole dataset will be downloaded at once. If it's not set only the features that intersect the map canvas are download. When zooming and/or panning no more features are downloaded? Is this on purpose? I always thought with unsetting this options the feature are downloaded dynamically.
