Hi Markus,
There is no other solution to your problem, other than upgrading your
QGIS server. Unless you would yourself invest into scripting and
comparing .qgs changes. And I guess this would be much more work than
upgrading your QGIS server software.

Hi Mark,
I have exactly the same problem.
I installed the QGIS Server 2.2 (valmiera) on my remote Linux/Debian
server and as long as I was feeding it with Projectfiles made with
QGIS Valmiera 2.2 all worked fine, but since I upgraded my Desktop
QGIS to 2.8.2, I have the same problem with the vector and polygon
outlines, which all appear black.
So, obviously the older QGIS server cannot handle the symbology
settings of the newer xml project files produced with QGIS 2.8.
Did you, or anybody else on the list, know a workaround other than
updating the older QGIS server (which could be a tricky work ....)?

I'm using Qgis Desktop 2.6, and when I move the files to the qgis web
server, the symbology for lines as well as polygon outlines do not
get rendered any other way than a black line. Points and polygon
fills (solid and hatching) symbolize correctly in qgis server.
I have done this before and had it working, but perhaps under a
different version. The underlying vector data is shapefiles.
Any suggestions?
